Greetings! It is episode time in the land of LOTROCast! This episode, as always, can be found at iTunes, the Zune Marketplace, and from the episode downloads toolbar to the right (once the feed has updated).
I will post shownotes later this week, but now it is Thanksgiving here in the US and I will be spending some time with my family.
See you in Middle-earth, (I recently found out the earth should not be capitalized in that statement)

Thanks for another great episode and review of SOM. 2009 was a 'slow' year for content in LoTRO, but due to the massive amount of content over 2008 I think it helped sustain casual players such as myself. In my opinion, it's due to the financial climate. I would guess that the rate of new subscriptions dropped significantly in early 2009. Hopefully the new movie will renew interest in LoTRO (which is what I think he meant in the interview) thus increasing the number of subscribers. Looking at this subscription chart: http://users.telenet.be/mmodata/Charts/150k-1m.png it appears that the rate of subscription increase changes along with the rate of new content release.
ReplyDeleteHey guys. I just listened to the last 4 casts of you while grinding my tailor to max-level. Enjoyed them a lot!
ReplyDeleteSo I just wanted to thank you and I´m hoping you´ll keep it up. Have fun in Mirkwood. :)
With best regards from northern germany,

Another good episode guys.
ReplyDeleteI just discovered this podcast a couple of weeks ago and I'm just about caught up with all of the episodes. You give a really nice run down of what's going on as well as doing some cool in depth features (especially chatting with other folks in middle earth - it is pretty valuable to hear the perspectives of other classes/characters/levels). The content is great for a lower level player like myself, even if it does not apply to me yet, but I can see how higher level players can get a lot out of it as well.
The lorecasts are a nice addition too, especially because it was the world of Tolkien that got me into the game (this is my first MMO, I'm about 3 weeks in to the game).
Anyway, keep up the great work.
